Start with the result you would accept
Picture the finished game. Do you need to walk through a familiar commercial game world, use its existing characters, or keep a particular save? You are looking for a mod project that supports that game. If you would enjoy a new, small game that combines exploration with dodging, an original browser mashup may fit. These goals need different tools even when the same two game names appear in the prompt.
Choose a mod when the original game matters
For a crossover inside an existing game, start with a released project and its requirements. As one example, Melty describes its mashups as mods running on games users own and offers a Windows launcher. That description comes from its official website, which we reviewed on October 18, 2026; we have not installed or tested it. Check the specific mashup before assuming your pair of games is supported.
Choose a browser mashup when the mechanics matter
Our generator creates a separate Canvas 2D game from two gameplay inspirations and your brief. It does not read your installed games, combine their files, or produce a mod. Its scale is a short prototype with original geometric artwork. Choose this route when your question is whether two mechanics are fun together and you can express that experiment with a small map, simple controls and one clear goal.
Example: exploration plus dodge-based combat
A request to combine Minecraft and Elden Ring can mean two different projects. If you want the actual worlds or combat systems brought together, look for a documented mod that delivers that result. For a browser experiment, try: “Explore a small tile garden, collect six stones, dodge slow enemies and reach a gate. Use WASD to move and Space to dash.” The second brief defines a new game; naming the inspirations does not import their content.
Match the setup and output to your goal
For a mod, read the project’s instructions for game versions, installation, dependencies and multiplayer support. For this browser generator, no source game installation is needed. You sign in with Google, complete human verification and submit your idea when generation is available. Generated games are saved privately and can be downloaded as standalone HTML files. Play the free premade examples first to judge the size and style of the experience.
Keep the first experiment small
If the original games are essential, verify that there is a playable project for your intended combination before spending time on setup. If the mechanics are enough, specify one movement system, one main action and one win condition for a browser prototype. Trying the examples can answer whether our format suits you before you register. A successful startup is only the beginning; play through the goal, failure and restart to evaluate the game.
When this site is the wrong tool
Use a different route if your goal requires modifying an installed commercial game, carrying over its assets or saves, or joining its existing multiplayer world. AI Merge Games does not provide those capabilities. The guide below on merging two existing games explains how to assess a mod tutorial. If you want an original mini-game instead, follow our game mashup guide to turn the two inspirations into a concrete brief.
